Dance Lines, Glen Iris

Our clients purchased a rambling Victorian farmhouse. Our brief was to retain the wonderful original features whilst replacing the heavy, formal Victorian interiors with more relaxed family-oriented spaces to suit three energetic young children. Our clients also asked us to work with their eclectic antique collection.

Minnie Pwerle’s Dance Lines rug was the inspirational starting point for the living space - we fell in love with it and so did our clients. The Shanghai tip sofa and other elements followed naturally from that! Beautiful, wide plank recycled timber flooring throughout the old and new sections create a strong visual link throughout the design.

The design involved extensive custom joinery throughout, including the new kitchen, butler pantry, bathrooms, laundry and study and bespoke fittings. A&M also collaborated with talented local artisan Gregory Bonasera on contemporary chandeliers.
